Drawn with you, made at our bench.
James Newton, the fourth generation, makes one-off pieces for clients alongside the fine jewelry in our cases. It happens in four steps, and you are part of each one.
- Conversation. The idea, the person and the budget.
- Drawing and stones. We sketch it and choose the stones with you.
- The bench. James makes it by hand.
- Fitting. We adjust until it is right.

02 Repair
Every repair, done here.
All repairs are done in house, by our own jeweler. Prongs, clasps, chains and settings stay at Fifth and Main from the day you bring them in until the day you take them home.
Caring for it at home
- Gold and diamonds
- Wash gold in warm water with a drop of mild soap and dry it with a soft cloth. Diamonds pick up oil from skin, so a soft brush now and then brings the light back. Bring it in any time for a free cleaning at the store.
- Pearls
- Put pearls on last, after perfume and lotion, and wipe them after wearing.
- Emeralds and opals
- Keep this stone away from heat and ultrasonic cleaners, which can harm it.
03 Ring sizing
The right size, measured for free.
We measure your finger at the store and resize rings at our own bench. Not nearby? Find your size on screen with a ring you already wear, or ask us for a free ring sizer.
04 Estate jewelry
Pieces with a past.
Estate rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and brooches are in our cases, ready to be worn again. Come and see them in person, and ask us what we know of each one.
